Two touristic pearls on one excursion: Krakow is by the tourists the most visited city in Poland and the Wieliczka Salt Mine is the most visited mine in the world!
Krakow is a historic city that was included on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1978. The entire city complex including the Wawel Royal Castle, the Old Town, Kazimierz and the former suburb of Stradom were distinguished. During our several-hour stay in Krakow, we will focus on visiting the Old Town, including St. Mary's Basilica and Wawel Hill, where there are, among others, Wawel cathedral.
After visiting Krakow, we will head to the Wieliczka Salt Mine. During the walk on the Tourist Route exploring the labyrinth of underground corridors, we will get to know the history of the mine since legendary times till now. We will admire landscapes that can’t be found on the surface: as saline lakes and beautiful underground chambers, including the unique St Kinga’s Chapel. We will go down ca. 380 stairs to reach the first level (64 meters below ground level), the sightseeing will end at the level III (135 meters). After breath-taking attractions on the Touristic Route we encourage you to visit the Krakow Saltworks Museum. Back to the surface you will get by the elevator.
