Silesian Beskid with Wisla and Szczyrk

Silesian Beskid with its most popular spots Wisla and Szczyrk is the most attractive region for citizens of Silesia to go on a trip. We take you on such trip! On the way, that has nearly 200 km you will get to know local folklore, highlander cuisine, recreational and sports offer of Beskid, there will be also lot of positive impressions and beautiful views.

Our first stop will be in Wisla, a spa town. The city holds the same name as the longest river in Poland not without a reason, there is a source of Wisla river close to Wisla town. During our walk in center of Wisla you will see its town square, “Cure house”, “Kopczynski Park”, “Amphitheater of Stanislaw Hadyna”, “The Monument of the Source of Wisla River”. There will also be an opportunity to try some delicious meals of the local Beskid cuisine. In Wisla you will notice, that the city is strongly connected with one polish famous sportsman. Adam Malysz (“The Eagle from Wisla”), is one of the greatest ski jumpers of all time.  The ski jump in Wisla Malinka is named after him. We will take a chairlift to come up the hill and we will have a look down the ski jump, record to beat is 139 meters… After this breath taking experience we will drive through the Salmopol Pass to Szczyrk. Szczyrk is considered to be the ski capital of Poland. It is located at the foot of the highest mountain in Silesian Beskid, that is called Skrzyczne (1257 meters a.s.l.). We will get to the top of the mountain thanks to the modern lifts and we will enjoy wonderful views (if the visibility is fine we can see Tatra Mountains). After short break in the shelter built in the thirties of the 20th century we will move back to Katowice.
